2K represents an era and, for me, it represents a defining chapter of my life.

The years surrounding 2000 weren’t simply a time I enjoyed. They were the years when many of the things that shaped my life came together.

I purchased my first family home in 2000. I was building my family, with both of my children born in the early 2000s. It was also the period when I was establishing my first professional career and beginning to build the foundation for the life I have today.

And then there was the culture.

The music, the movies, the comedy, the fashion, the cars, the sports, the technology.

There was an excitement about entering a new millennium and wondering what was coming next.

I remember driving my 2000 Chevy Tahoe. Gas was around a dollar a gallon. The music from that era became music we still celebrate today. The Chicago Bulls had just come off one of the most dominant runs in sports history.

But what makes the 2K era special to me isn’t any single song, car, athlete or cultural moment.

It’s how life felt.

It was family, progress, accomplishment, music, laughter, friends, culture and possibility. Some of the greatest memories of my life were created during that period.

That’s what 2K means to me.
